Elterekrees on ARA City Radio
31 March 2021
Marco and Anna of Elterekrees, a support group for parents of young adults and teenagers suffering from drug addiction, joined Sam on the Breakfast Show this morning to discuss their work.
The support group, which was started by Anna two years ago, is, as they describe, a time to share experiences, to learn and as Marco stressed during the interview, an opportunity to overcome isolation and guilt.
While there are a number of organisations in place to support those who face addiction themselves, those directly effected by addiction, often the parents, do not have as many places to go. The guilt and anxiety that the parents of addicts can suffer often causes people to freeze and struggle to care for themselves or their loved ones who are struggling with addiction. Elterekrees offers a place, where you can express your anxieties and emotions and share your questions in a confidential and non judgmental space..
